Open Houses Set to Discuss Revised Affordable Housing Proposal PDF Print E-mail
Janaury 28, 2010
The City of Wenatchee is holding two open houses to discuss the revised proposal from Intercommunity Mercy Housing to develop 124 senior apartments on the City’s property at Mission & Kittitas Street, in downtown Wenatchee.

The open houses will take place Monday, February 8 at noon and 5 p.m., at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center.  Download the flyer for more details:  pdf Open House Flyer 28/01/2010,15:03

Property owners in Wenatchee’s Central Business District and Downtown Association members are encouraged to attend one of the open houses.  This is your chance to learn more about the proposal, make your opinions heard, or offer up additional ideas.

The proposal was first presented to the public on October 14, 2009.  In response to public comment and subsequent parking studies, the organization has revised their proposal to include fewer units and additional parking spaces.  On January 14, 2010, the city’s Affordable Housing Task Force voted 5 to 4, in favor of recommending that the proposal be presented to Wenatchee City Council for action by the end of February.  During that vote, WDA Executive Director and Task Force member Sarah Dempsey recommended not bringing this proposal to the council.
